Trail Etiquette
Show up early for the ride to ensure you have enough time to get yourself and your bike ready.
Know your place in the group. The fast riders are up front with the slower more social riders bringing up the rear. If you are a noob to the sport - that's so awesome we’re glad you're here. This is an art and science and also a lot of common sense. A good rule of thumb is to start towards the rear and work your way up to the front. See where you can hang.
Wait for the rider behind you - at every turn or decision point. This actually keeps the group going faster because it takes much longer to go back and find riders.
Always have a sweeper - probably one of the most important riders because they need to be willing to help and have some repair abilities. Also they can’t let anyone get behind them as they “sweep” the group forward. In a group ride you may want to have multiple sweepers and even leaders. Mix it up to keep it fun. Just make sure you have a leader and a sweeper.
Encourage each other - we get beat up enough by life lets celebrate each other on the trail. If you are a more advanced rider make sure to slow down and help those that are newer to the sport. Coach them up cuz someone/s surely coached you.
Keep it fun - and remember as one of our forefathers once said “its all about the smiles, not about the miles”.
Respect the Trail
Stay off of very muddy trails - very is an art and a science, Do no harm and leave no trace principles apply.
Yield to Trail Users
